Twenty years of building software the way we believe it should be built.
The Beginning
In 2004, Denis Gorshkov founded Diatom Enterprises in Canada with one clear principle, one we still follow today.
From Canada to Latvia
A few years later, Diatom moved its headquarters to Latvia, a European Union country with stable regulation, a transparent legal environment, and access to a strong developer talent pool across the continent.
Diatom Today
Today, Diatom has 80+ senior in-house engineers, and everyone at the company, from a developer to a board member, has a technical background. Over 90% of our clients are based in North America, and most partnerships last for years: we adapt to each team’s work culture and communication style.

Four principles we’ve kept for twenty years.
Senior by Default
No juniors dressed up as seniors. The engineers you interview are the engineers who join your project, and most have 10+ years of production experience.
No Surprises
Open backlogs, weekly reporting and direct access to the team. If something slips, you hear it the day we see it, not at the end of the sprint.
Honest Pushback
If a feature won’t pay off or an estimate looks unrealistic, we say so before work starts. Raising it early costs far less than fixing it later.
Code That Outlives Us
Documented, tested and readable by the next team. You own everything we build, with no lock-in and a clean handover whenever you need it.

Glebs Barkovs
Leads company strategy and long-term client partnerships. Joined Diatom as a project manager and grew into the CEO role, so every engagement is run with a delivery-first view.
Slava Dubovitsky
Co-founder. Has designed and built software on the Microsoft stack since 1993, with 100+ projects in finance, real estate, education and telecom. Sets the architecture and engineering standards our teams work by.
Evgeny Lemasov
Co-founder. Three decades in software, from the first Windows-based system for Latvian Railways to cloud and SaaS products. Runs delivery operations and quality control across client engagements.
